Women In Media, is a 501c3 organization officially launched in Philadelphia in the Spring of 2013 in response to the false depiction of women within the Philadelphia arts industry. Women were falsely represented in a feature documentary about Philadelphia’s art scene.
We encourage women to own their voices and to utilize the power of their stories. What started out as one half day workshop for women held at Temple University, has transpired into an entire organization and annual conference investing in the lives of women. A collective of millennial small business owners and media professionals — graduates of Spelman College and Temple University — created WIM with the hopes of driving diversity and unity within the media industry. As a result of this, Women In Media has produced a well-respected and highly anticipated annual conference for women of all backgrounds, generations, and professional levels. Over the past four years, the conference has consistently sold out, serving a total of over 3,500 women in media in the tri-state area. Registrants enjoy dynamic keynote speakers, honorees, interactive breakout sessions, networking, delicious food, live music, panel discussions, and more.
